Can’t embed videos in WordPress? Try this fix. (Annoying problem solved.)

Been googling for a while to try to find out why my videos (eg from youtube, but also from my own media library) weren’t embedding, but were just coming out as boring old links.

And I finally found someone with the answer… on youtube (of course).

Basically there is a little box on the Users tab that you have to uncheck for some reason. Click on Users in the sidepanel of the dashboard, then click on your user profile to edit it, find the checkbox with ‘use the visual rich editor when writing’ (in the current version of wordpress it’s near the top), uncheck that box, then update to save that info, and it will then work. Don’t know why, but hey, it works!

So thought I’d post this here in case it saves someone else hours of misery.

and to celebrate that it works, an old fave: Enjoy!
