Box of Words CD-ROM will work with Windows (95 and above) or Mac OSX.

It requires a recent web-browser, and audio playing software (such as Realplayer or Winamp).

Box of Words will work with any recent browser such as Netscape, Internet Explorer,
Opera or Safari. However we recommend Mozilla as the best browser currently available.

To join the growing group of Mozilla users, you can get a free download direct from the CD-ROM or by going to mozilla.org

Mozilla is an award-winning browser that has a number of advantages for web-browsing, including the option to open multiple links and webpages as tabs by right-clicking the mouse when over the link, and selecting 'open as tab'. This means the links can load in the background without interfering with what you are reading (and with less risk of crashing your computer as can happen if you open lots of links in new windows) and be ready to view when you want them.

Of course with a CD-ROM, all files and mp3 tracks load instantly so this feature won't be needed when using Box of Words, but is very handy to have at other times.

Mac Users

When you insert the Box of Words CD-ROM, an audio icon may appear and activate your audio player software. If this happens, click out of it to close it. The second, or non-audio, CD icon is the one you want. Click to open this and locate the intro file: and then double click on the intro file.

All copies of Box of Words distributed after November 2004 will work with any recent browser, including Internet Explorer 5.
However if you have an early version of Box of Words (pre November 2004), and wish to use it with Internet Explorer 5,
please contact us for a replacement copy.
